Hi, I’m Annie.

I’m a yoga teacher and all around silly human. If you don’t know me, I look forward to getting to know you, helping you move, deepening your yoga practice, and hopefully making you laugh a bit (or a lot).

I love yoga: studying and reading texts, my daily home practice, teaching amazing students, and bringing my joy of yoga to others. Yoga is more than asana (poses) - it’s a journey to self-discovery and awakening. Through yoga, I have found a deeper sense of self and purpose in life.

In 2018, I received my 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification from the Napa Valley Yoga Center, which ignited my passion for teaching. I’m currently working on my 300 hour Yoga Teacher certification through Three Sisters Yoga based in New York City. I’ve also taken continuing education courses in Restorative Yoga, Core + Stability, and Yoga Anatomy. In a previous life, I was an improv comedian, so I like to keep my classes fun, informative, and playful. And I throw a few dad jokes in here and there.

I currently live in Hudson Valley, NY and teach at Whole Sky Yoga in Stone Ridge, NY. I’ve previously lived in Napa Valley, Brooklyn, Amsterdam, London, and Washington, D.C., but I’m a Pennsylvania girl at heart. I hope to connect with you!

My Approach

I meet every student where they are. If you want to focus on building strength, let’s do that! If there is a pose you have been working on, let’s explore it! If you want to sit and breathe, we can do that. Yoga is about the process, and savoring every morsel along the way.

ACCESSIBILITY

Anatomically, we are all engineered slightly (or majorly) different. From our bone structure, to how ligaments connect our bones - no two bodies are alike. It’s the differences that need to be celebrated and explored more. I do my best to create sequences that invite a variety of levels and to develop classes for specific audiences. I’m still learning! And I’ll never stop learning. I also want you to know that you are perfect, just the way you are.

EQUITABLE SPACEs

Yoga spaces in the West have not always been inviting of different body types, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, or anyone who identifies as “other.” However, all students are welcome in the Annie G yoga world! I always aim to foster a safe space for self-exploration and expression in my classes. While yoga may not be everyone’s cup of tea, every individual is fully capable of practicing yoga (remember, it’s not all asana!).
